Neiman Marcus + Target

The long awaited holiday collection is finally here - Neiman Marcus & Target teamed up to bring more than 50 gorgeous gifts from 24 of the most recognized designers. The collection made its debut on December 1st and I checked it in person that morning.

Some of the items I saw online definitely impressed me up close.

(I was so disappointed that this Tracy Reese blouse didn't fit so well - its gorgeous!)

I may go back for this Proenza Schouler sweatshirt...

I was DYING over these dresses for the little ladies!

The accessories were gorgeous as well. I especially loved the items from Altuzarra.

And the ornaments from Jason Wu.

Other items I loved - Prabal Gurung cape, Philip Crangi frame,  and Brian Atwood leather gloves (these felt like BUTTER).

I ended up leaving empty-handed from this collection. I thought the selection was nice but nothing was really jumping out at me, especially at the price points. Although I think there are a few items that I may need to revisit because I keep thinking about them.

Tell me - did you check out the collection (online or in store)? Did anything come home with you? I want to hear all about your picks from the Neiman Marcus + Target collab!

OOTD // Blogger Inspired: Bows & Sequins

As an avid reader of fashion blogs, I come across outfits often that make me want to recreate them from within my own closet. Sometimes it doesn't always work out - I may not have similar items or the outfits may not be realistic for my daily life - but other times they are just perfect! I saw this look over at Bows & Sequins and immediately fell in love. I knew I had to make it my own.

The combination of the striped tee + boyfriend jeans + leopard flats made for an easygoing, practical look for the workday and luckily enough, I had every single piece!

J. Crew Top / Target Boyfriend Jeans (similar option) / Target Leopard Flats (similar option) / Kristin Hassan Necklace (similar option) / Guess Watch / JewelMint Gold Bracelets / BaubleBar Coral Bracelet

So what do you think? How did I do in remaking Jessica's look?

Should I do more 'Blogger Inspired' outfit posts?

Kirna Zabete + Smoker Flats at Target

The Shops at Target have a new set of shops featured in their stores and online (you can check out my previous post here). Kirna Zabete is the latest shop for women's fashion and accessories. This past weekend, I checked out the line in store and snapped up some photos of what was there.

I didn't have time to really check anything out and try things on, but I was really impressed with the quality of this line. And I love that tweed dress with the (p)leather strip down the middle! It was definitely my favorite piece based on looks alone. And I love this maxi!

Aside from the Kirna Zabete line, I tried on some new versions of the smokers flats (pink patent seen here) that are in for fall. This style is called Vianca.

I didn't take either because I have way too many leopard print flats and I have the gold sequin Aldo sneakers. I'm trying to resist impulse buying. On this trip, I succeeded.

But that's really really really hard when it comes to shopping at Target.

I can't be the only one who feels this way, right?

BDIB: Oxblood

The theme for this Bloggers Do It Better challenge is oxblood - the IT color for fall.

You can see my previous submission for BDIB: Sequins here.

Oxblood is not just maroon or bordeaux or wine...it has a hint of brown mixed in with the burgundy. Such a perfect fall color...makes me think of rich wine or dark colored leaves.

I had pants that were PERFECT for this challenge but alas, they were still needing to be hemmed. Luckily I had just purchased this cardi and it had oxblood all over it!

Even my lipgloss was an oxblood shade!

I told you I was loving my sock bun - it was just right for the weather since it's been raining non stop. And no joke, the humidity was at 100%. Hence the flyaways framing my face.

You can see the other bloggers sporting their oxblood on the BDIB link up here!

OOTD // Seaweed & Coral

I wore this Seaweed & Coral outfit this weekend for church. It's such an easy dress that can easily be dressed up or down. And I love throwing on a denim jacket over dresses.

Target Dress (similar option) / Old Navy Denim Jacket / Jessica Simpson 'Astor' Shoes / Necklace (similar options here, here, here, here & here) / BaubleBar Bracelets / Guess Watch / Jessica Simpson Sunglasses (similar option)

And I am totally loving my sock bun. I practiced this all through Tropical Storm Isaac and now I am almost a pro. Practice makes perfect - check out the 'how to' here!

Dress-y Stripes

Every once in awhile, I like to put a dress on. It's not usually my go-to uniform (I tend to feel more comfortable in pants), but I don't think there is anything more feminine than a dress. I snagged this dress from J.Crew a few weeks ago (and on sale!) and was pretty excited to throw it on this weekend. Ryan was impressed - he kept on complimenting the outfit throughout the night! Maybe I should wear dresses more often...

So another outfit post. I am still not sure how I feel on doing these....but alas here it is!

Hope you had a happy weekend!

My Girly Weekend

This past weekend was one of the girliest weekends I have had in awhile. Granted, I am usually found doing something girly, but this weekend was non-stop girl stuff.
And I enjoyed it thoroughly!

Most Friday nights for me are nights in. I don't usually make plans for Friday nights because at the end of the work week, all I want to do is veg out at home and RELAX. So I swung by Target to grab some things & picked up Essie's "Ole Caliente" for my at-home mani/pedi.

Saturday morning/afternoon brought about laundry & other house stuff before GIRLS NIGHT OUT! A few of my girlfriends & I were just meeting up for dinner & dessert but I swear I was putting more energy into getting ready for it than I do for a night out with my hubby! ;) Just kidding....I put in effort for him too! But I think it's because when you are married (& all of your friends are married), your schedules aren't as free...so it takes quite the effort to plan a GNO. In any case, I was really excited for it.

If you follow me on Instagram, then you caught a sneak peek of this outfit...

Dinner at Bonefish Grill with Raisa & Cheryl

Sunday didn't start out so hot - I woke up with a killer headache so I stayed in bed for awhile until I felt better. I had breakfast & relaxed because it was storming outside. The other day I shared a picture on Instagram that was so quintessential South Florida - it was sunny as all heck but it was raining at the same time. Typical. Anyways, I had a baby shower for a friend later on in the afternoon so while I was feeling the urge to stay in my pj's, I got it together.

Dress: J. Crew 'Maritime Anchor' (now on sale!)
Sandals: Sam Edelman

Watch: Guess
Necklace: J. Crew via eBay

My weekend ended with Sarah Jessica Parker...in the form of watching her movie, "I Don't Know How She Does It"...finally! This movie has been out forever!

It was cute. Then again, my opinion may be biased because I just love me some SJP!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend!
What did you do?

I do not post my own outfit photos the way most bloggers do. I don't have someone to follow me around while I prance about in my outfit. I don't have a fancy camera either. My pics are taken with my iPhone and I am the photographer. Oh well. I guess I also feel shy about posting my outfits because I think "who really cares?" but I know how much I love seeing bloggers post outfit pictures, so what's the big deal? Stupid insecurities!
