OOTD // Thanksgiving

Can you believe that Thanksgiving weekend has come and gone? I swear this holiday season is just sneaking on by - this is the first year since the Hubs and I got married that I failed to bring out the fall decor. I totally skipped Halloween and then skipped on Thanksgiving as well! I don't even know how that happened. And it's not me - I LOVE decorating for the holidays. Anyways, back on today's post - what I wore for Thanksgiving dinner. My entire family got together at my aunt & uncle's home for a big feast and lots of photo ops. Thanksgiving tends to lean on the less dressy side of the style spectrum for our family, but I still like to add some sparkle and dress up just a bit.

Express Sweater (out of stock online, but similar option) / Old Navy Cords / Steve Madden Heels (old, but similar option) / BaubleBar Necklace (no longer available online, but a nice alternative) / Guess Watch / Express Bangle Bracelets / J. Crew Bracelet

We hope you & your loved ones had a very Happy Thanksgiving!

*Who's taking part of Cyber Monday?! Some of the deals I shared on Friday's post are still active for today, so be sure to check them out. Let me know what deals you score!

OOTD // Seaweed & Coral

I wore this Seaweed & Coral outfit this weekend for church. It's such an easy dress that can easily be dressed up or down. And I love throwing on a denim jacket over dresses.

Target Dress (similar option) / Old Navy Denim Jacket / Jessica Simpson 'Astor' Shoes / Necklace (similar options here, here, here, here & here) / BaubleBar Bracelets / Guess Watch / Jessica Simpson Sunglasses (similar option)

And I am totally loving my sock bun. I practiced this all through Tropical Storm Isaac and now I am almost a pro. Practice makes perfect - check out the 'how to' here!

Recent Looks

I do not post my own outfit photos the way most bloggers do. I don't have someone to follow me around while I prance about in my outfit. I don't have a fancy camera either. My pics are taken with my iPhone and I am the photographer. Oh well. I guess I also feel shy about posting my outfits because I think "who really cares?" but I know how much I love seeing bloggers post outfit pictures, so what's the big deal? Stupid insecurities!

Whatevs. Here are some of my most recent outfits.

Florals for Lunch

No I didn't eat florals for lunch....I wore florals for lunch!

Yesterday we had lunch with my Mom (& Dad too) at PF Chang's for Mother's Day. The Hubs and I looooove PF Chang's. Seriously, we would have no problem eating there everyday if we could. We don't even open up the menu because we have the same order every single time. Occasionally, we try something new but that's rare. One of my favorite treats: this mini red velvet cake dessert...yum!!!

Anyways back to my outfit!

(without iPhone flash)

(with iPhone flash - the colors look brighter here!)

Dress: Old Navy
Cami: New York & Company
Cardigan: Target
Gladiator Sandals: Qupid

Gold Watch: Guess (as seen here)
White/Gold Bracelet: BaubleBar
Neon Leaf Earrings: BaubleBar
Love Necklace: (I can't remember!)
Gold Links Bracelet: Spike the Punch

Unfortunately I didn't get any shots with my Mom or Dad. I thought I took a picture of them but it's not on my phone and the one group shot the waiter took was all blurry. But I did snap this one pic of my husband & I....isn't he so cute? :)

Hope you all had a lovely Mother's Day!

I have been to Old Navy twice this weekend and walked out with quite the bundle! Old Navy is such a great place to shop without breaking the bank - they usually have several coupons out at a time too! Check out my pics and see what I brought home!

I wore this dress to church this weekend & got a bunch of compliments!

Old Navy had tons of cute clothes in store paired up with some great sales! Check out your local store because the online prices are sometimes different than in store.

Have you shopped Old Navy lately?

Stripes on Top

As of late, I have been going through my closet and making a mental note of things that I need to add to my wardrobe (remember my Resolutions post? More classics, less fads) and things that I need to rid myself of (more of that to come in the future!). So during this process, I couldn't help but notice that many of my tops were striped. I do remember buying a few striped tops back in December (as mentioned in this post) but I guess I have purchased even more since then!

I know the rule of thumb is that vertical stripes make you look taller/longer, while horizontal stripes tend to make you look wider. But honestly, I don't pay too much attention to rules like that - unless it's extreme in some sense. I just buy and wear what I like. I think everyone should dress that way! Here are some of the stripes I wear on top.

I just received this from an online order the other day & I love it!

I love this top - the metallic stripes add just a hint of sparkle!

Another recent purchase...and on sale!

StyleMint also has great striped tees for just $29.99!
I have the Broadway tee in red (which now also comes in a dress style!), but they also have other great striped tees in different colors! Search for - Venice, Fillmore & Lenox!

And I think this dress from Old Navy needs to be added to my closet asap!

Do you wear stripes on top? Do they play a major role in your closet?

*Thank you to everyone who entered in the JewelMint giveaway!
Stay tuned - the winner will be announced soon!

Colored Denim

With spring just around the corner for the majority of you (in South Florida, it's spring/summer all year round), my head has been dreaming of colored denim. Not sure why though because for myself, I tend to stick with darker colors for bottoms. But seeing denim in colors of berry, blue, green and red just seem too cheery to pass up!

I'm not sure if I will actually venture out and buy myself colored denim this year. I don't really like to add anymore emphasis on my caboose (if you know what I mean) so like I said above, I tend to stick with regular blue denim...but all these colors have my attention! I think if I find the right pair that fits and the color isn't too loud, it may work!

Are you a fan of colored denim? Or do you stick with good ol' blue?
