Friday's Five

My five favorites this week:

#1 - Gummy bears have been on my crave list all week!

#2 - "House of Consignment" on VH1 follows the fashion e-retail business of Corri McFadden. She created eDrop-Off at just 23 years old & has made into her own successful fashion resale empire. Love her spunk & love her style!

#3 - La Croix water. So many flavors & super tasty!

#4 - Love Express fragrance. I just recently picked this up in roller ball & I love how it fits in my makeup bag & is so easily accessible when I need a little fragrant pick me up.

#5 - This is where I am headed for the weekend...can you guess where?

P + P on MTV

Tonight marks the premiere of two new shows coming to life on MTV (you know they don't really play music videos anymore, right?).

First up...

I was OBSESSED with this show when Ashton Kutcher hosted this several years back. Some of the funniest pranks ever were seen here and every week was another episode of "Oh my gosh, I can't believe they did that to (insert celebrity name)!!" Looks like Justin Bieber is bringing "Punk'd" back by pulling the prank on Taylor Swift. Fun!

"Punk'd" will be followed by "The Pauly D Project"...

I got sucked into the vortex of nonsense that we now lovingly refer to as "Jersey Shore" and now one of it's spinoff shows features the late night, party life of DJ Pauly D. Pauly cracks me up. Seriously he makes me laugh. He is just too funny! Did you all see the prank he pulled on the last episode of "Jersey Shore" where he moved all the indoor furniture outside & vice versa? So funny. Maybe he should be hosting "Punk'D" :)

MTV
Thursday, March 29
Punk'd - 10pm EST
The Pauly D Project - 10:30pm EST

Will you be tuning in?

Handy Dandy: Meat + Vinegar

Vinegar can be a useful addition to meat:

1 - It can be used as a tenderizer

2 - It can aid in a quicker defrost!
Just pour over frozen meat; it helps bring down the freezing tempurature!

Oh Marc Jacobs...

WHY??
What in the heavens name was he thinking?

Sephora Goodies - Part 2

IIt's been a few months since my last Sephora haul but I had a wad of coupons burning a hole in my wallet for a few weeks now and I finally put most of them to use. I hit up a few different stores for clothing and beauty products and I might share the rest of my purchases this week. But I definitely wanted to share what my Sephora haul consisted of because every single item I bought was a first time purchase. I hope that if you have tried any of them, you will share your feedback with me!

I needed some sort of heat protectant for my hair since I regularly use a blow dryer or flat iron. I have tried a few other brands but haven't found a keeper. The Bumble and bumble. rep was in store and she highly recommended it, calling it the "primer" of hair care.

Another necessity. I will be leaving for a little fun in the sun this weekend and while I never forget to bring suncreen for my face and body, I tend to neglect my hair. Ironic for a Florida resident, right?? I should know better!

It's described as an "industrial-strength concealer" and that is what sold me. I don't have a lot to conceal on my face but I am tired of buying concealers (that aren't cheap) and finding that they don't even last the whole day. The Sephora  makeup artist applied it for me and it looked really natural blended into my skin.

I'm playing a little game with facial cleansers now. Since I have normal/dry and sometimes sensitive skin (with occasional patches of eczema on my hairline), I am trying out different brands to see which gentle cleanser works best. The reviews online looked good so I picked up a smaller tube to try out myself.

This was my VIB perk and it scared the crap out of me when I saw it on the counter. It looks like the brightest, scariest hot pink ever but as you can see here, it's not so bad!

Please share your thoughts if you have used any of these products...I'd love to hear how they worked (or didn't!) for you!

Wisdom via Warhol

Right on the money, Mr. Warhol. Right on the money.

I think sometimes in life you get so wrapped up in wanting "bigger & better" that you lose sight of what captured you from the get-go. Sometimes those little things end up being exactly what we needed even if we thought we wanted more.

I know I definitely needed the reminder to be thrilled by the little things. :)

Happy Anniversary Justin & Rene!

Today my brother & his bride are celebrating two years of marriage! I cannot believe it's been two years already...I feel like I was just at their wedding just a few months ago!

It was a pretty special day. I was emotional seeing my "little" brother become a husband - it almost didn't seem right because in my mind, he is still an annoying little kid that I can't shake. ;) But the really special part was knowing that I would now have a sister!

Congratulations Justin & Rene...wishing you both many more years of wedded bliss!

Style Crush: Freida Pinto

You know her from her breakout role in "Slumdog Millionaire" but I think Freida Pinto broke out into the fashion world with such force that you cannot deny her great taste in clothing. Plus, she is gorgeous!

Antonio Berardi

There are countless looks that I have loved from Miss Freida. I think she is such a beauty & she dresses in a way that really emphasizes her exotic looks. She always looks impeccable & ladylike! That is always a plus in my book.

Do you agree? Are you a fan of Freida's fashion?

Eats: Buffalo Chicken Dip

There are few things that my husband will request on a regular basis. He isn't really a picky eater, but he doesn't really "fall in love" with anything, food-wise. That is, until he ate this dip. It has become a frequent request for parties & get-togethers...and most importantly, during football season. I'm not a fan of hot sauce really, but this stuff is delish!

Buffalo Chicken Dip
Yields about 4 cups

Ingredients:

  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup blue cheese salad dressing
  • 1/2 cup Frank's Red Hot sauce
  • 1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese or shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 (9.75 ounce) cans chunk chicken breast, drained
  • Tortilla chips

  • *Note - The final photos (shown in baking dish) are for a DOUBLED recipe amount. The amounts listed above are NOT doubled; they are for one/4 cups serving.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Mash the cream cheese with fork until softened and smooth.

Add the blue cheese (or ranch) dressing

Add the hot sauce & then
add the cheese - blue cheese crumbles or mozzarella
    (oops, forgot a photo!)

    Mix well

Add chicken & mash into smaller pieces

Place into baking dish & bake for about 20 minutes, until hot & bubbly.

Stir before serving & top with a light layer of additional cheese, if desired. Serve with tortilla chips...veggies would work well too!

    Pair of Studs

The sweet people at Anjolee sent me this gorgeous pair of diamond stud earrings and I could not have been more thrilled to receive such a beautiful, sparkly treat!

What girl doesn't love a pair of princess cut diamond studs?!

Anjolee offers a wide variety of styles when it comes to their diamond earrings but I knew that I wanted something that was classic and could work for day or night. The simplicity of a princess cut diamond stud was just the right choice! It works perfectly for a casual, daytime look but also looks just right for a dressier, evening look. Plus they matched the smaller studs I wear in my second ear piercing!

You can even customize your earrings (hoop earrings too!) to your specifications - choose what size, diamond weight/clarity, style & metal you want to make them just right for you!

And if diamond studs aren't your thing, then check out their selection of diamond hoop earrings...they are so pretty!

*While this is a sponsored post for Anjolee, all opinions are mine.
