Cheers to One Year!

The Pretty Factor is officially one year old!

 

 

Technically it turned one on Friday but oops, I forgot.

 

I cannot believe one entire year has gone by since I started this little blog. I didn't even know what I would blog about or how consistently I would blog, but over the year I stuck with writing on things that interested me no matter the subject.

 

I have hosted a giveaway, participated in a Bloggers Do It Better challenge, shared some outfit posts (examples: here and here), recipes (examples: here, here and here) and even experienced my first Fashion's Night Out! I joined Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Bloglovin' and I even have my own fancy cards to share...you can even shop my closet!

 

This has become such an enjoyable journey for me. Regardless of whether or not it's read or shared or commented on, it has become my own place to express myself about all the different things I love. I hope this next year brings even more joy with the hopes of new doors being opened for me to experience new and exciting things!

 

Thank you to those who have supported this little project of mine - I hope you will continue to follow along and see where The Pretty Factor goes in year two!

 

 

Blog Worthy / Entirely Random

I thought I begin a new feature called "Blog Worthy" where I share a blog with you that I find worthy to be noticed. They may or may not be fashion or beauty related, but I still think they are worth checking out. You might find a new blog to add to your reading list!

The first blog on this feature is one written by my high school friend Matt called Entirely Random. His passion lies within the entertainment industry, specifically music & he posts on his blog frequently to share his thoughts on everything & anything music related.

Want to hear his thoughts on established artists? He'll tell you about their latest project. Looking for new, not so famous artists to add to your playlist? He has probably been on their radar for awhile now & can share their newest records or music videos. I have learned of so many new artists via his blog! Plus I get tidbits on some of my favorites too!

Matt also shares his thoughts on movies & other entertainment related subjects, but if music is your thing, then Entirely Random should be added to your blog roll!

Friday's Five

Five things that definitely made this week a bit brighter...

#1 - NBC's new show "Up All Night" actually premieres next Wednesday but this week they gave us a sneak peek. It was so funny and it gave me (and the hubs) a humorous little dose of what life might really be like once we have a baby on our hands. Pretty hilarious!

#2 - My birthday gift perfume, Dior's Miss Cherie. I have literally been wearing it every single day!

#3 - A special treat this week was spending a few hours at a local spa after work. My husband bought a package (months ago!) at a great price so that I could enjoy a facial, a glycolic peel, a spa pedicure and a foot reflexology treatment. I would never buy that many spa treatments at one time for myself so it was nice to enjoy them without feeling financial guilt. And just walking into this place made me feel like I was entering a pampering heaven!

#4 - Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood's duet, "Remind Me" has been played more times than I can count! I love the song and can't hear it enough. Plus I love how amazing Carrie looks in the video! Gorgeous!

#5 - Lastly, the brightest part of the week was starting this blog! It's been on my "I-kinda-want-to-do-this" list but it kept being pushed aside. More important things (or excuses?)came up and it got forgotten. But I'm pretty happy that I finally put it together! I'm curious to see what it will turn into!
