Friday's Five

Here are my five favorites this week...

#1 - Dreams. Most people dream in their sleep so rarely, the dreams aren't as vivid or aren't as consistent. For me, the dreams come practically every single night and they are so real. I can almost 'feel' what is happening and when I wake up, the emotion from the dream is on my face whether it be a big smile or tears from my eyes. I am not sure why I dream as often as I do, but this week has been full of good ones!

#2 - Pumpkin. From scented candles to coffee creamer to the spice for my pumpkin bread recipe, I am having a love affair with it this week! I don't think it should just be reserved for the holiday season...it's that yum!

#3 - The Target commercials for Black Friday featuring the crazy Christmas Champ lady are back! I love her commercials and they get better every year!

#4 - Buxom's Big & Healthy lip polish in Dolly. This has been my go-to gloss this week. I originally received a sample from Sephora and got hooked, so I went ahead and bought the full sized version. It tingles a bit because it plumps your lips and the color is so pretty!

#5 - Friday night date night with our crew! Tonight the Hubs & I are heading out with some of our favorite couples for an evening of pizza and bowling. It's sure to be a fun night!

Happy Friday!

Friday's Five

Here are my five favorites this week...

#1 - I know this is old news, but I finally got around to reading the eulogy written for Steve Jobs by his sister, Mona Simpson. It was such a beautiful tribute to the brother she met when she was 25...I can only imagine how much more she would have written had they met earlier.

#2 - This cake was designed for The Glitter Guide by Washington DC attorney/baker/blogger, Apollina. You can recreate this cake for the holidays or any occasion you want to celebrate!

#3 - I am a big fan of proper grammar. Nothing irritates me more than seeing the wrong words in the wrong place or the misspelling of those words. This tee would also be perfect for "their" and "they're" - I am sure there are a bunch to choose from!

#4 - Again, I may be late on this video but since finally watching it this week, I have replayed it over and over! Oh Jimmy Kimmel, what a fabulous idea!

#5 - I'm sure you have seen my wedding posts (here and here) and thought, "Does Erica have any other weddings to attend this year?" Well, the answer would be yes. BUT it is the last one for 2011! The lucky couple to be graced with our presence (Ha! Just Kidding!) is Loriell and Karl! We are really excited to see our friends tie the knot this evening...and even more excited about all the dancing we will be doing together. :)

Friday's Five

My five favorites this week -

#1 - Bows on jewelry. Just this week I ordered this beautiful Meghan LA ring on HauteLook and this bracelet from JewelMint.

#2 - One of my struggles is trying to look a little bit taller than my 5'3" self actually is. If you can relate, check out these "Clever Tips for Dressing Taller" from Refinery 29!

#3 - No need to splurge for wall decor when you have lovely shopping bags to display!

#4 - This Sun Drop commercial is old, but it cracks me up everytime I see it!

#5 - Today is road trip day! Husband & I (along with two of our favorite couples) are going to Orlando for a weekend of fun! Our little crew is headed up to Disney World for Epcot's International Food & Wine Festival! It is super yum and super fun!
Stay tuned for a future post!

Friday's Five

My five favorites this week -

#1 - A lesson I am currently learning applies to me & others in my life...

#2 - Chevron pumpkins...right in season & right in style

#3 - Light shows are synonymous with Christmas, but this house brings it to Halloween!

(Check out their 2010 production!)

#4 - Jimmy Choo. Peacock feathers. Purple. Obsessed.

(Not obsessed with the price tag. Grr.)

#5 - West Side Story is coming back to the big screen to celebrate their 50th anniversary! This is one of my absolute favorite musicals; we saw it on Broadway when we visited NYC in September 2010! Check to see if it's coming your way on November 9!

Friday's Five

My five favorite DIY's for this week -

#1 - Lauren Conrad's post on ten creative pumpkins that you can DIY this season. I love this alternative to carving! I actually made pumpkins similar to the ones below for my fall tablescape (a future post!)...so easy & so pretty!

#2 - Got some sneakers that could use a touch of sparkle? Check out this DIY post from Stripes & Sequins and see how Grace took a plain pair of sneaks and made them super pretty with some paint, glue and sequins!

#3 - This super chic tray from P.S. - I Made This involved the simplest materials and it would look amazing on a dresser or coffee table!

#4 - These neon satchels bags from the Cambridge Satchel Company have been all over the web, but their $150+ price tag may not be so affordable. No worries! Glitter 'N Glue shows us how to make your own using spray paint!

#5 - Another DIY from Lauren Conrad's site, this peacock costume might be the prettiest one that I have seen for Halloween! I am a huge fan of peacocks and this is just a WOW costume! Here is a sneak peek...

Don't forget to "like" The Pretty Factor on Facebook too!

Friday's Five

My five favorites this week -

#1 - Is this not the cutest puppy ever?? I think I want him!

#2 - A gorgeous jeweled dress

#3 - Ever since last Friday's wedding, this song has been in my head non stop!
*Shoutout to my girls RG, JS & LV ;)

#4 - I have been lusting after this bag for two weeks now (maybe longer) and I tried to order it online but it was sold out. I pouted, asked friends to keep their eyes peeled for me...and then my husband went out of his way this week and picked it up at the store for me!
Isn't he the sweetest?!

#5 - Sophia Grace singing "Super Bass" by Nicki Minaj...look at all that sass!
(And her little sidekick is too cute!)

Happy weekend to all!

Friday's Five

My five favorites this week -

#1 - The announcement (and my excitement!) of Jason Wu for Target coming in Spring 2012! I can't wait to see how he translates his designs into something truly affordable!

#2 - Lauren Conrad's post on casual attire for a workplace where dress suits are not the requirement...this was right up my alley!

#3 - "All I Want for Christmas is You" is one of my favorite Christmas tunes and it looks like Mariah Carey will recreate it with Justin Bieber for his upcoming Christmas album, "Under the Mistletoe" due November 1. Yep, I'm kinda happy about it. He has a sweet voice and is too stinking adorable!

#4 - Not sure where rules 1-7 are, but I do love this one!

#5 - Today two of our best friends are getting married! Cheryl & Isaac will be tying the knot and joining the married couples club! The hubs and I are so honored to be part of their wedding party and it will be such a special memory to share with them. It is so amazing to see our sweet friends commit to each other in the greatest way!

Friday's Five

My five favorites this week -

#1 - The self-titled release album from The Band Perry. My husband and I have been stuck on country music lately and this particular cd has been playing in my car all week!

#2 - Every little girl loves playing with makeup. Most little girls don't have makeup tutorials for the world to see! Check out Madison's sunflower inspired look for Halloween - she is way too cute!

chicka, chicka, wow, wow!

#3 - Now I am a personal member of the "I always overpack for a trip" club. I just feel like you can never have too many options and it's always better to have extra than not have enough. I think Rachel Zoe took it to a whole other level when she packed for Paris Fashion Week. Rodger doesn't look too thrilled...

(photo via The Zoe Report)
#4 - I have found my absolute favorite recipe for homemade mashed potatoes. These are absolutely heavenly! I made them this week and we had enough for leftovers the next day...the only leftover my husband hasn't complained about! Thanks Pioneer Woman!

#5 - This Johnson & Johnson commercial tugs at my heartstrings everytime! The smile...the eyes...the chubby rolls! So precious!

Enjoy your weekend!

Friday's Five

My five favorites this week -

#1 - Fall! This is my favorite season and today is the official first day! This photo is exactly what I see in my mind when I think of fall, but unfortunately this doesn't happen in South Florida.

#2 - MAC's "Social Light" lipglass has been on my lips all week!

#3 - Emma Stone inspired my recent change to red hair and so far, I am loving it!

#4 - Starbuck's "Pumpkin Spice" latte puts an extra pep in my step and it's so yum!

#5 - I am kinda crushing on these Saffi Mary Janes from TopShop - so perfect for fall!

Friday's Five

Five things that definitely made this week a bit brighter...

#1 - NBC's new show "Up All Night" actually premieres next Wednesday but this week they gave us a sneak peek. It was so funny and it gave me (and the hubs) a humorous little dose of what life might really be like once we have a baby on our hands. Pretty hilarious!

#2 - My birthday gift perfume, Dior's Miss Cherie. I have literally been wearing it every single day!

#3 - A special treat this week was spending a few hours at a local spa after work. My husband bought a package (months ago!) at a great price so that I could enjoy a facial, a glycolic peel, a spa pedicure and a foot reflexology treatment. I would never buy that many spa treatments at one time for myself so it was nice to enjoy them without feeling financial guilt. And just walking into this place made me feel like I was entering a pampering heaven!

#4 - Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood's duet, "Remind Me" has been played more times than I can count! I love the song and can't hear it enough. Plus I love how amazing Carrie looks in the video! Gorgeous!

#5 - Lastly, the brightest part of the week was starting this blog! It's been on my "I-kinda-want-to-do-this" list but it kept being pushed aside. More important things (or excuses?)came up and it got forgotten. But I'm pretty happy that I finally put it together! I'm curious to see what it will turn into!

Have a wonderful weekend!
