BDIB: Oxblood

The theme for this Bloggers Do It Better challenge is oxblood - the IT color for fall.

You can see my previous submission for BDIB: Sequins here.

Oxblood is not just maroon or bordeaux or wine...it has a hint of brown mixed in with the burgundy. Such a perfect fall color...makes me think of rich wine or dark colored leaves.

I had pants that were PERFECT for this challenge but alas, they were still needing to be hemmed. Luckily I had just purchased this cardi and it had oxblood all over it!

Even my lipgloss was an oxblood shade!

I told you I was loving my sock bun - it was just right for the weather since it's been raining non stop. And no joke, the humidity was at 100%. Hence the flyaways framing my face.

You can see the other bloggers sporting their oxblood on the BDIB link up here!

T + J Designs Style Challenge

I told you this week that I would be sharing my submission into a jewelry Style Challenge, hosted by T + J Designs and here it is! Their challenge asked participants to style statement jewelry pieces around an outfit & then post our looks with details as to how we put our look together. The prize? Jewelry from T + J Designs!

This past weekend we had a dinner party for my friend's birthday. This is the full look (well kinda...the Hubs accidentally cut my feet off!) of what I wore for sushi and birthday cake :)

Top: Old Navy
Jeans: Gap
Shoes: (thrifted!) MICHAEL Michael Kors (not shown, but seen here)
Clutch: Zara

Red beaded necklace & bracelet: old/unknown
Gold spiked bangle bracelet: Forever 21
Gold dual-finger ring: Erica Anenberg via HauteLook
Watch: Guess (also seen here)
Black & Gold Glam bracelet: T + J Designs (no longer available)

I tend to see leopard print as a neutral and I love mixing it with other colors or textures. Red is the most commonly used color I pair with leopard so I threw on my MAC Red lipstick and grabbed the beaded necklace & bracelet set. I then added in other pieces of gold jewelry to dress it up. I truly love my Zara clutch & I love how it sparkles against everything I pair it with, especially something dark like the denim.

I really am a huge fan of jewelry - I think along with shoes, jewelry is what makes an outfit complete. I love big, obnoxious pieces as much as small, delicate ones.
I am a firm believer in the "more is more" concept!
